WHAT IS PET (POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE)?

Polyethylene terephthalate, briefly called PET, is a substance belonging to the polyester family and is a biodegradable and semi-crystalline polymer. Polyethylene terephthalate is a type of plastic that is widely used today and can be easily recycled.

  • It is preferred for its features of high rigidity, good machineability, dimensional stability and resistance to sunlight (UV).
  • It shows a high degree of transparency.
  • It is quite good against oxygen, moisture and gas permeability.
  • It has high strength and toughness properties.
  • It is food-safe.
